Key Stage 2
Classes for 7 to 11 year old children
Year 6 SATS – Maths, Reading, SPaG & Writing
At Harding Tutorials, we have a holistic approach. We appreciate that this is an important time for our children and these curriculum-based tests are more about being ‘Secondary ready’ than about the tests themselves.
We offer small group support with a very child-centred approach tailored to each individual, in these core subjects.
Usually, we find that there are only a few small insecure areas in the foundations which cause the whole house of the subject to tumble down. “I can’t do fractions; therefore, I hate maths. I am so stupid!”
This causes misery and a lack of confidence which can lead to a barrier against the whole subject!
Our aim is to quickly pinpoint the problem area. Offer dynamic and targeted intervention in that specific area. Raise the confidence of the child using a “I can, we can, you can,” approach. Offer lots of opportunities to practise and hone the skill while praising and lifting the mindset, transforming the child with a new, “can-do” attitude.
We fill each gap as we find it, building ambition, quelling fears and making learning fun!
£30 per hour - Groups of 5 or less - paid in advance of the lesson.
Things people say about us ...
A few of the words that spring to mind when I think of Julie include patient, engaging, adaptable, creative, thoughtful,
compassionate, resourceful, impressive and hilariously funny.
Not only did Julie help my daughter to achieve her highest academic potential, she boosted her confidence (and even
cured her of her fear of dogs - thanks to the gorgeous Cooper and Ginny).
Every session was an utter joy, and a visit to Julie’s was not like a work session but a treat that was always anticipated with excitement. Not only is Julie able to grow children academically but does it in a way that brings huge amounts of enjoyment, laughter and personal growth.
A brilliant teacher and an all round Wonder Woman!

We can't thank Julie enough for the encouragement, positivity and wealth of knowledge she has given our son. Our
son was falling behind in his literacy lessons at KS2, although greater depth in maths he was below average in
reading, writing and SPAG. Julie was highly recommended by the Head of English at a local secondary school. Within
weeks we could see the confidence had grown in our son and he began enjoying his one to one literacy lessons with
Julie.
She made them fun, engaging and took time to get to know our son. Months went by and at his next school
parents evening his teacher couldn't believe the difference in their concentration, ability and motivation in their literacy
lessons. Julie recommended the 11+ and he only went and passed it. Homework was little and often which kept the
momentum going and he only went and passed. We genuinely believe Julie's tutoring has made such a difference to
our sons last few years at primary. He is now greater depth in reading. We would highly recommend Julie!
